Principal Objectives
The Molefi Kete Asante Institute is a highly organized think-tank producing papers and research on every aspect of the African world. Its work encompasses the United States, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia as well as the continent of Africa. Wherever there is a need to understand and explain the presence, conditions, situations of Africans the researchers of the Institute are prepared to produce official and peer-reviewed articles and reports on a plethora of topics such as economics, environment, education, good governance, HBCUs, history, leadership innovation, and women studies.
Philosophy
Founded on the basis of the Afrocentric philosophy articulated in the more than seventy five books of Molefi Kete Asante, the Institute is devoted to studying, researching, and investigating all issues from the standpoint of African people as agents and subjects of human experience, not as on the margins of any other culture. The experts ask the question, “How do African people see this event, experience, or condition with their own eyes?” Such a perspective provides remarkably new interpretations of human phenomena in the African world. Thus, the scholars who serve as experts in the Institute are highly educated, well-trained researchers and published authors who attempt in a non-partisan manner to provide their best insight into topics and themes covered by the Institute.
